We have arranged a really wonderful weekend of workshops with Shafeek Ibrahim (who wowwed everyone at Raqs Britania) and a performance showcase that you can dance at on the Saturday night.

Don't forget that this AGM is your chance to hear all up to date news - air your own views and shape policy for the future.

There will be a souk, and  professional photographer,  Matt Laver (prices from £10 for a publicity shot - I have seen these and they are VERY VERY good, - many of the performers in the Scottish area are already using his work) - and as his wife is a belly dancer he knows exactly what we are looking for.

The meal on the Saturday night will be by a famous Goan cook (fabulous flavours),and the showcase itself, in the Eastgate Theatre - a lovely venue, with a very friendly atmosphere. It has a bar and quality snacks.

The workshops are being held in the Burgh hall - (2 mins from the theatre)and has space for as many dancers as can make it.
Coffee /tea + biccies will be free at the AGM and there is a free workshop with Shafeek !Another workshop after a short break and then on the Sunday a 4 hour choreography workshop.

This is an event not to be missed - we are even able to offer transport back to Edinburgh on the Saturday night after the Showcase !!! If you book it!

PEEBLES, in the Scottish Borders is very happy to have been asked to host this event in March 2007.

Over the last few years there has been an explosion of interest in Egyptian Bellydance in this picturesque borders town - and the dancers  - from age 6 to 60 (plus??) are delighted to be hosting the Nada AGM in 2007.
Peebles dancers are friendly, enthusiastic and welcoming, so this promises to be a fun event for all those who attend the workshops and Showcase.
We have held a number of very successful Haflas in the town attracting dancers from Glasgow, Edinburgh and all over the Borders.

Peebles is built round the river Tweed, and as it ‘s in acres of hill, river and woodland walks it’s a lovely spot for a weekend break, easily accessible from northern England and Central Scotland.
Centres of interest in the town are generally no more than 5 minutes away from each other and there are lots of coffee shops and cafes for a quick cup of tea! The town has the highest concentration of independent specialist shops in any Scottish town and there are several silk, woodwork, and jewellery workshops. Also 4 or 5 of my own favourite – Charity shops!!

The Eastgate theatre - where we are holding the showcase - is a wonderful performance venue  - lots of space to dance and with an all-round balcony, no one need miss a thing. The theatre was converted from a church building a few years ago and is a thriving arts centre.  The workshops will be held in the Burgh Hall – 2 mins from the theatre, no need to shift the car!

If anyone needs to book accommodation overnight try the website at
www.visitscottishborders.com

There is a possibility of running a bus after the show to Edinburgh Centre on the Saturday if there is enough interest – see booking form.
